Short game Tip

When working on your short game, let us not forget that fundamentals are a very important part of each chip or pitch.  As in academics, poor study habits result in a poor G.P.A. (Grade Point Average)  In golf, our G.P.A. stands for Grip, Posture, and Alignment  Proper execuation of these three (3) fundamentals are the starting foundation to allow you to make a proper backswing and forward swing.

Grip:  The alignment of the grip is consistent to that of a standard full swing.  Grip is choked down approximately 2", while having a light grip pressure.  Tip:  On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being the lightest grip, 10 being the firmest, apply a grip pressure between 3 and 4.

Posture:  A few minor changes include a narrower stance than normal, body position closer to the ball at address, and weight is shifted foward by placing 70% of your weight on your front foot.  Tip:  Lean your body towards your intended target to help wight transfer.

Alignment:  Feet will be open (pointed left) to your intended target line.
